Pops and Gigi’s House

After our wonderful weekend at the lake, we drove to Pops and Gigi’s house (about 2 hours away) to spend the night with them and go to their church on Sunday morning.

Gigi wondered if Emma might be ready to sit in big church.  Pops is the pastor so I though maybe just maybe Emma would be in awe of that and be very quiet and still.  She was great throughout the Praise and Worship.  Then Pops appeared in the baptistry to baptize a young child and Emma whispered loudly, “Uh oh Pops, a shadow!”  There was a large shadow of him on the wall behind him (from the spotlight) and she was afraid that the shadow was going to get him. 

She stayed for about 5 minutes of the sermon and then we had to make a quick exit.  I guess she’s not quite ready for big church.

Baby, Baby, Baby!!!

If I haven’t mentioned it before, all 3 of the Curry kids are expecting babies within about 4 months of each other! 

Robin’s sister, Crystal is 34 weeks pregnant and is due September 10, 2009 with baby boy Zane. 

I’m now 23 weeks pregnant , due on November 23rd, 2009 with baby boy Foster. 

Last, but not least, our sister-in-law (Robin’s brother’s wife), Fallon, is  17 weeks pregnant, due on January 6, 2010.  We’ll find out in just a few short weeks what they are having…  We could have 3 boys to get in trouble together over the years OR Emma might just have another little girl to play with.  

Needless to say, Christmas is going to be VERY interesting this year and Emma is in for the shock of her life. :)  She is currently the ONLY grandchild!

Ok, so we had grand plans for a pregnant picture of the 3 pregnant sisters-in-law.  However, we kept forgetting to take the picture and before we knew it, it was time for Fallon to leave.  So this is all we got.  No makeup, no fancy clothes.   Just 3 pregnant women in lake grub.  Someday our kiddos will just love this picture!

Curry Family Lake Trip

Every year Robin’s side of the family gets together at Possum Kingdom lake in Texas for a weekend of fun in the sun.  This was Emma’s 3rd time to attend the Curry reunion and she had a great time.  Every year there are more children added to the mix which makes things extra fun and crazy!  Next year we really need to get a picture of the whole group- there are about 30 people all together.

 

This picture was taken right after Pops and Gigi drove up to our cabin.  Pops immediately hopped out of the car and ran straight to Emma.  (I think he may have forgotten to say hi to Robin and me but that’s beside the point.) 

He brought Emma this pinwheel and she loved it!

Emma and Fallon invented a new game where Fallon would shake and pull Emma’s arms back and forth and Emma would laugh hysterically.  No one else was allowed to play- just Fallon!: (I’ll post a video later.)

We had a great time catching up with everyone and we can’t wait until next year!

Crazy sleeping!

Emma has always been a pretty wild sleeper!  Once she falls asleep, she sleeps for a long time, but getting to sleep has always been a challenge!

We recently tried to move her from her “baby room” to her “big girl room.” 

Our entire first week was quite a challenge!  Mommy and daddy were quite sleep deprived that week!

The very first night that she stayed in her room the entire night we told her she could sleep ON the bed, or ON the floor but she needed to stay IN her room. 

In the morning, I walked in and could not find her ANYWHERE!!!  I was scared to death.

And then I heard a very faint, muffled, “mommy?”

She was UNDER HER BED!!!

Why or how?  I’m not sure!  I think she felt safe under her bed.

Braum’s Chocolate Malts

I think I’ve mentioned before that I craved Braum’s chocolate malts during my entire pregnancy with Emma.  I had at least one/week, probably more…. which may be why Emma was 8 lbs 6 ozs at birth and very very swollen and huge! 

I digress… I guess it would be no surprise that Emma now LOVES chocolate malts from Braum’s!  She also enjoys the chocolate shakes from Chili’s.

On this particular day, my mom and I bribed Emma with a chocolate malt from Braum’s IF she would sit still for a few pictures at Portrait Innovations (which I will post later.) 

Here is a picture of Emma receiving her “reward.”  She can drink a whole malt by herself. :)  I figure she’s getting some good calcium, right?  AND, she’s in the 7th percentile for weight so she can stand to gain a few pounds.

Visiting Pops and Gigi after Galveston

I completely forgot to post these pictures along with our beach trip blog post!

On our way back from Galveston we stopped in Arlington for one night to see Pops and Gigi.

Gigi had just had nerve surgery on her foot that same day but you can’t tell that from these pictures! 

We kept having to reinforce to Emma to be VERY careful around Gigi’s hurt foot.

As I mentioned in our Vacation Post, our good friend Kathy Krey took some great pictures of our family on the beach during our last night in Galveston.  We appreciate her so much.  She is so talented and it means a lot to us to have these pictures to remember our awesome vacation and also to document our family of 3 before it becomes a family of 4!
